Patricia and Delbert Flanagan (first row, center) with their family
July 2010 marked the big celebration of Delbert and Patricia Flanagan and family on the occasion of 60 years of marital bliss. Twenty of their 26 family members enjoyed a great three day stay at Fort Worden State Park.
The senior couple, 1948 graduates of Bothell High School, had lived for 20 years on the Maltby family farm where Del was born. They farmed for 10 years while raising their family until the I-522 freeway cut through their property and the farm was sold. The couple built a new home on the 15 acres across the freeway.
Del worked for 20 years for King County Public Works, retiring in 1989 to help Pat in their popular plant nursery, Pat’s Perennials. The nursery closed in 1996 after 14 happy years of serving the public. As their plants flourished, so did their family of six fine children and twelve beautiful grandchildren.
