Ascentia Wine Estates LLC has announced that Columbia Winery will remain in Woodinville.

Last week, Ascentia Wine Estates LLC announced the signing of a long-term agreement on its Columbia Winery in Woodinville.  This secures the future of the winery and preserves its foothold in the heart of the Washington state’s wine industry.

Jim DeBonis, Ascentia Wine Estates CEO, comments “The decision to keep Columbia Winery in Woodinville was very important to us.  It was paramount to Ascentia’s growth plan for our Columbia Winery brand and for the protection of employees in the Pacific Northwest. It is also essential to our local consumers, tourists and distributors, while maintaining a significant presence in the growing Washington wine industry.”

“Since 1989 Columbia Winery has been an iconic part of the Woodinville wine community and we are thrilled to continue and elevate our retail, event, wedding and club member services to our followers,” says Holly Matson, director of retail for Ascentia Wine Estate’s Northwest operations.

“We welcome Columbia Winery’s new owner, Ascentia Wine Estates, with open arms, and we are delighted that they have made the decision to remain in Woodinville.  Columbia Winery is a valued member of our business community and has been instrumental in the positive impact tourism has had for the City of Woodinville,” says Scott Hageman, mayor of Woodinville.

“We are thrilled that Columbia Winery will be staying at their present location, they have been an anchor for winery tourism and events in Woodinville for many years and we couldn’t be more pleased that they will continue to be a vital part of our membership,” adds Cynthia Daste, director of the Woodinville Wine Country.

“Our winemaking team continues to hand-craft small lot reserve and vineyard designate wines, and having this agreement in place on the 70,000-square-foot Woodinville location is essential for our future winemaking plans and improved operational efficiencies,” says Glenn Coogan, vice president of Ascentia’s Northwest Operations.
