Holiday events begin

    Country Village will celebrate their annual holiday open house Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Santa in his sleigh will descend from the sky at 7 p.m. on Sat. to greet the children and their parents. The arrival of Santa will be followed by a traditional tree lighting and complimentary hot roasted chestnuts. The evening will feature caroling, train rides for children, and pony rides. All shops will be open with many offering complimentary refreshments. No admission charge. 483-2250.

    Santa's Reindeer Farm at the Washington Zoological Park in Issaquah suggests a special visit from Santa, his elves, and one of his Siberian reindeer for a holiday event. (206) 392-6278.

    The Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs' annual holiday flower show, "Candyland Fantasy," will be held Nov. 8, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and Nov. 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Howard Johnson Plaza in Everett. Besides designs, displays and classes, there will be a sales boutique during show hours.

    The Northwest's newest holiday arts and crafts show, "Holiday Magic," will be at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Nov. 12 from 10 5 p.m. Admission is $6 general and $4 for seniors. Children under 12 are free. 882-2979.

    "Wholesale Heaven," a discount shopping event, is scheduled for the Seattle Trade Center Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. General admission is $5 and seniors are $4. Children under 10 are free. (206) 882-2979.
