The Woodinville-based wine company Stimson Lane Vineyards & Estates has appointed Rich Sermone to district manager for Oregon and southwest Washington.
A resident of Tigard, Oregon, Sermone joined Stimson Lane from E. & J. Gallo Winery where he worked as a field marketing manager in Oregon.
He replaces Chris Zehner, who is moving to Phoenix after being promoted to district manager for Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.
Candice Chaplin has been hired as communications manager for Columbia Crest, Domaine Ste. Michelle, and Snoqualmie wineries. She was a publicist with Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Group in New York City for five years.
She will report to Katie Sims, director of communications, who directs product publicity for Chateau Ste. Michelle, Conn Creek, and Villa Mt. Eden wineries.
Stimson Lane markets Chateau Ste. Michelle, Columbia Crest, Domaine Ste. Michelle and Snoqualmie wineries in Washington State, plus Conn Creek and Villa Mt. Eden wineries in Napa Valley, CA.
Redhook Ale and Brewery has announced the winner of their "Brewer for a Day" contest which ran at both the Trolleyman in Fremont and Forecasters in Woodinville as part of their "Hoptoberfest" celebrations.

Tina Pontecorvo of Woodinville has been promoted to TV news writer/producer at KOMO-TV. She is responsible for writing news stories for the weekday morning newscasts and also produces the Sunday morning news.
Pontecorvo previously worked for KOMO TV as a part-time TV news writer in 1994 and in 1993 as a microwave production assistant.
