    The Santa Photo Booth opens and Santa arrives Nov. 24 at Totem Lake Mall. New Day, a mother-daughter duo, will perform at the mall at 1 p.m. Nov. 26.

    The 12th annual "Classic" Holiday Open House, hosted by Classic Nursery and Landscape Co., is scheduled for Nov. 25-26 & Dec. 2-3, 9-10 from noon to 4 p.m. Featured will be a petting zoo, Santa, stories, homemade cookies and cocoa. 885-5678.

    Santa and his sleigh will descend from the sky Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. at the Country Village in Bothell. Area groups will carol on the main stage from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 483-2250.

    The Wallingford Holiday Walk is planned for Dec. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. Participants should meet at the Wallingford Center at 6 p.m. for caroling, a 6:30 tree lighting ceremony, and a music program.     A Contemporary Theatre (ACT) in Seattle continues a Northwest holiday tradition by presenting its 20th production of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" from Nov. 25 through Dec. 27.     Santa PAWS is taking pet portraits with Santa to benefit animals Nov. 25 and 26 at the east entrance of Crossroads Shopping Center in Bellevue.     The Bellevue Chamber Chorus and the University of Washington Saxophone Quintet will help celebrate the 7th annual Tree Lighting at Bellevue Place Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. The audience participates in the singing and children are invited onto the stage for special holiday songs.     Woodland Park Zoo's annual Holiday Zoobilee will be held Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 25 through Dec. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Zoo-goers can enjoy visits and photos with Santa, storytelling, keeper talks, puppet shows, and live entertainment.     The wineries of Yakima Valley are again hosting the "Thanksgiving in the Wine Country" open house Nov. 24-26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participating wineries will offer complimentary tastings of premium varietal wines and food items.     Children's Hospital & Medical Center Holiday Events: The Enchanted Forest with 15 to 20 elaborately decorated Christmas trees will be on display through Jan. 3. A Holiday Luncheon sponsored by the K.C. Howard Guild will be held Nov. 28 in the Spanish Ballroom at the Four Seasons Olympic Hotel.     Through Nov. 30, take new, safe and unwrapped toys to the volunteer office at Children's Hospital. Holiday ornaments will be sold by volunteers in the lobby of the Four Seasons Olympic Hotel and Rainier Square Nov. 24-Dec. 23. Cost is $5. To volunteer, call 481-1639.

    "Letters to Santa!" The Bothell High School Honor Society is sponsoring a North Pole mail box at Country Village. Children of all ages can drop their letters to Santa and receive a personal answer. Look for the red and white striped pole. There is no charge, but be sure to include your return address. 483-2250.

    "The Ball," this year's Hutch Holiday Gala, will be held Dec. 9 at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel and Towers. A silent auction, a sit-down dinner, a live auction, and late-night dancing will be part of the elegant evening.

    "Love Lights a Tree," a holiday tree lighting and dedication ceremony will be held Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Crossroads Shopping Center in Bellevue. The event will also honor cancer survivors as well as those who have died of cancer. Community members wishing to remember or honor someone special may make a donation to the American Cancer Society beginning Nov. 15. Each donation will be represented by a holiday ornament with the name of the donor and honoree. All names will be announced as the ornament is hung on the tree Dec. 8. 869-5588.
