Sammamish Valley Grange elects officers for 1996
The following Sammamish Valley Grange officers were elected recently and were installed at their Pomona (King County) meeting at their hall in Woodinville, on Saturday, Nov. 18:
The Grange spokespeople noted that the organization is concerned and interested in what is going on in the development of the rich agricultural Sammamish Valley.
- Master: Frank Baker.
- Overseer: Evelyn Kammerer.
- Lecturer: Helen McMahon.
- Steward: Floyd Slossan.
- Asst. Steward: Howard Meyers.
- Lady Asst. Steward: Cheryl Chapin.
- Chaplain: Zoe Hedwall.
- Treasurer: Wilma Baker.
- Secretary: Gladys Meyers.
- Gatekeeper: Dick Westover.
- Ceres: Melissa Mays.
- Pomona: Teresa DeRosier.
- Flora: MaryAnn Scott.
- Executive Committee: Maury Compton, 3-yr.
Larry Martin, an attorney and Grange member, spoke about restrictions that are making it difficult to farm in the valley, and also talked about the situation at the Christmas Tree Farm on the Woodinville-Duvall Road.
"There needs to be more input by all of us in the interest of agricultural pursuits in our valley. We don't want what happened in the Kent Valley to happen here," Grange officials said.
