Flu season hits the area early
According to a report just issued by the Washington State Department of Health, the Seattle-King County Virology Laboratory has reported four more positive Influenza type A isolates as of Nov. 13, in addition to the seven reported as of Nov. 10.
Flu immunizations are still available through early December at many locations throughout Washington State.

Although the flu is especially dangerous for people over 65 and those at risk for the complications of flu, adults of any age can be stricken, health officials said.
There were more than 107 million cases of influenza nationwide in 1992, they added, resulting in approximately 198 million bed days at a cost to the U.S. of over $12 million in medical costs and lost work days.
