Accessibility a problem for Christmas tree cutters

tree cutting Many Christmas tree cutting areas in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest remain inaccessible due to road wash-outs, mud slides, and flooding.
Individuals who are interested in Christmas tree permits should contact the Supervisor's Office in Mountlake Terrace, 744-3570, or one of the Ranger Stations at Sedro-Woolley, Skykomish, Darrington, or North Bend for the latest information (the White River Ranger District has already sold its supply of permits for 1996). All of these offices are open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Christmas tree permits cost $10 and are not refundable.
