Obituary: Hazel Loraine Feldkamp

obituary Memorial services were held Dec. 2 at the First Baptist Church of Bothell for Hazel Loraine Feldkamp, 86, who died Nov. 26 in Kirkland.
   Mrs. Feldkamp was born Oct. 1, 1909 to Grover and Cora May Mathews in Lancaster (now Rudy), Arkansas.
   She met Hubert Feldkamp while both were working their way through college. They were married Jan. 16, 1932, in Joplin, Mo. Their only child, Cibyl Jane, was born in 1940.
   Mrs. Feldkamp was a devoted teacher who especially enjoyed teaching 2nd and 4th grades in Inglewood, Ca. She retired in 1965.
   Following the death of her husband, she came to Woodinville in 1977 along with Cibyl and her family. Mrs. Feldkamp became known as Grandma Hazel when she helped care for the children of mothers who held a Bible study called "Friday Friends Forever."
   Her interests included collecting for the Heart Fund, helping with pre-schoolers in Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Bothell, and petitioning for parks in the Woodinville area.
   At the Northshore Senior Center, she took part in trips and ceramics. At home, rummy was a favorite pastime.
   Mrs. Feldkamp enjoyed all the activities of the seniors at First Baptist and had many friends at the church. She was an active participant until fractures and other health problems interfered.
   Survivors of Mrs. Feldkamp include her daughter, Cibyl Kumagai, and husband Rickard, of Woodinville; grandaughters, Jeannette Kumagai of Austin, TX., and Joy Sun Hee of Woodinville; sisters, Tressie Morrison and Mildred Coleman; and brother Russell Mathews, all of Arkansas.
   Graveside service and interment was held in Butler Creek Cemetery, Sulfur Springs, Arkansas, Dec. 4.
