Recycling options for yard debris
With the recent windstorm, huge quantities of trees, branches and other vegetation has fallen into the Bothell area.
Although cleaning up this debris is important to our community, it is also important to remember that most of the Bothell area was declared a no-burn zone for outdoor fires.
The Bothell Fire Department recommends that residents consider recycling alternatives for the disposal of yard debris. Some options include:
For more information about the no-burn boundaries, call the Bothell Fire Department at 486-1678.
- Curbside Recycling: This is provided by the waste collection agencies who serve the Bothell area. Call Waste Management/Sno-King, 885-4744 or Waste Management/Northwest, 481-1100.
- Wood Waste Recycling Sites: Large quantities of yard debris (no treated materials) may be taken to a recycling site. For more details, call Pacific Topsoils, 485-9681 or Fruhling Sand & Topsoils, 487-9429.
- Composting: Bins may be constructed for yard waste, or debris may be stacked to allow for decomposition and reuse. For more information, call Snohomish County Solid Waste Management Division, 388-3425; King County Recycling & Composting Information Line, 296-4466; or King County Cooperative Extension, 296-3900.
