Mountain pass reports available by telephone and Internet
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and the Washington State Patrol announced they are combining their resources to report mountain pass road conditions.
The WSDOT Mountain Pass Reporting System will be the single source for pass reports, available by calling 1-900-407-PASS. Calls to the system cost 35 cents for the first minute, maximum of two minutes.
Cellular phones, pay phones, operator-assisted calls, calls from Canada, and calls from phones that cannot access "900" numbers can call 1-206-434-PASS, which is a toll call.
Pass reports are also available via the Internet, on the WSDOT Home Page at the URL address of http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/.
Hearing-impaired callers using TTD's (text tele-typewriter devices) can access the reports by dialing 1-800-833-6388 and then type for extension (206) 440-4440.
Reports are updated at least six times a day and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week until April 15.
