A 22-year-old woman is in serious condition at Harborview Hospital after being struck by a car late Dec. 20 on the dark stretch of 148th Avenue NE in Woodinville.
The pedestrian, Pamela Foley of Redmond, was transported to Harborview at about midnight the night of the accident, where she was treated for a head injury, a broken hip, and two broken legs.
The accident occurred around 11:10 p.m. when a 1983 Toyota traveling northbound on 148th Avenue NE struck Foley near the 15400 block.
Because of the nature of the accident, King County's Major Accident Response and Reconstruction (MARR) unit was called in.
The road was closed between NE 145th Street and NE 171st Street from 11:30 p.m. until 3:21 a.m. while the MARR investigators studied the scene.
Investigators determined neither alcohol nor speed were contributing factors in the cause of the accident.
