Large turnout at 'musical' blood drive
As the coordinator of a blood drive last week sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Woodinville, I wish to give a huge thanks to several who helped make the event so successful.
We got a wonderfully large turnout to listen to live music while they donated, and many of them said they had read about the drive in your newspaper. Thank you for giving us (and the Puget Sound Blood Bank in particular) such good coverage.
Also on our list of helpers for the drive were Ann Hawley, the owner of Comin' Up Roses Florist, and Anna Torkelson, on her staff, who gave us space and did all the lettering on the reader board at the entrance to the Gateway Plaza, at the intersection of I-405 and 160th Street, announcing the blood drive.
In that same shopping mall is a new cafe called Denice's Place. Denice as well, gave us her space on the same reader board, instead of using it herself to advertise her cafe for the very first time. We are very grateful to these ladies for their gifts.
So, again, on behalf of the Blood Bank, we say thanks to all who participated and helped in this blood drive in any way, and especially to all the donors who gave the best gift of all, their blood!
