More public hearings set on Public-Private Initiatives
Citizens will have another chance to voice their opinions on a proposed Washington Administrative Code (WAC) rule relating to the Washington State Department of Transportation's Public Private Initiatives in Transportation program (AKA "Toll Roads") at a meeting in Monroe Jan. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Eagles Hall, 114 Lewis St. Other meetings will be held in Seattle, Tacoma and Kent.
The proposed rule sets out the administrative procedures for public involvement activities that will lead to advisory elections on three proposed privately-financed transportation improvement projects, including SR-522 from Woodinville to Monroe. A possible project component is the collection of a toll to fund the road construction.
Persons who wish to respond but are unable to attend the hearings can send written comments to Bill Richeson, WSDOT Records Services, P.O. Box 47410, Olympia, WA 98504- 7410. Deadline for written comments is Jan. 17, 1996.
Information about the program is also available on the Internet at http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/. Comments can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. gov.
