Dispose of hazardous waste at King County Wastemobile

hazardous waste The King County Solid Waste Division's traveling Household Hazardous Wastemobile will continue in operation at Lake Forest Park Jan. 11 and 12, 12 noon to 7 p.m., and Jan. 13, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Lake Forest Park Towne Centre, on the corner of NE Ballinger Way (Hwy. 104) and Bothell Way NE (Hwy. 522).
Materials can be disposed of only when the Wastemobile is open for business.
King County residents can drop off their cans of used paint, paint thinners, pesticides, household cleaners, automotive products, and car batteries at the Wastemobile without charge. Proper disposal of these wastes is necessary to reduce environmental pollution, said Solid Waste officials.
Materials such as mothballs, some flea remedies, nail polish remover, and adhesives like "Super Glue" and caulk are also hazardous waste.
Residents are encouraged to bring these to the Wastemobile as well, rather than putting them in the garbage. Many hazardous household materials are then reprocessed or recycled.
