As 1996 gets underway, elected officials, some new, some re-elected incumbents, are being sworn in at local governments and municipal businesses.
Woodinville Water District
Gail Harrell returned for her second six-year term as Water Commissioner for the Woodinville Water District. Harrell was sworn in on Jan. 2 to the three-member board.
In addition, Gwenn Maxfield assumed the mantle of leadership as the president of the board for 1996, and Harrell rotated out.
The Board of Water Commissioners is accepting resumes and letters of intent for two additional positions on the board. One position will be for two years, the other for four years, and board members expect to make appointments at the beginning of March. Resumes and letters in triplicate will be accepted until Jan. 15, addressed "Confidential, Board Applicant," Woodinville Water District, P.O. Box 1390, Woodinville, WA. 98072.
The board meets the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 7 p.m. at the Woodinville Water District's headquarters, 17238 Woodinville-Duvall Road.
Woodinville Fire and Life Safety District
Fire Commissioners for the Woodinville Fire and Life Safety District welcomed re-elected commissioner Don Leggett and newly-elected David Callon.
The two were sworn in on Jan. 2 at the Board of Fire Commissioners meeting, which is held on the first and third Mondays of every month at 6 p.m. in the meeting room of the Woodinville Fire District headquarters, 19900 144th Ave. NE, Woodinville.
Due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Jan. 15, the commissioners second January meeting will be Jan. 22.
Northshore School District
Northshore School District has a new board member in Sue Paro and a returning member in B-Z Davis. Paro and Davis took office in December.
The school board typically meets twice monthly. It will convene Jan. 9 at 3:30 p.m. and Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ricketts Building Auditorium, 18315 Bothell Way NE, Bothell.
