Federal aid available for windstorm, flood victims

disaster aid To the citizens of our community:
Due to the recent declaration of a federal disaster area, a toll-free teleregistration hotline is now available to those citizens affected by the recent Washington floods and windstorms.
Residents of the state of Washington who have sustained losses or damage from the winter storms, high winds, and flood of 1995 should call the disaster teleregistration hotline at 1-800-462-9029 and register for assistance. The line is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
You may be eligible for temporary housing or repairs, low interest loans for homeowners, renters, and business owners, or grants for individuals or families. But you must first call the disaster teleregistration hotline and register.
Again, the number is 1-800-462-9029. If you are hearing or speech impaired, the TDD number is 1-800-462-7585.
Once you have received your registration number, you may then attend a disaster workshop to determine your reimbursement eligibility. The site for our area is located at Canyon Park Office Center, Tract 5-A, Suite 310, 22232 17th Ave. SE in Bothell.
This site is open Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at one of the SBA Disaster Recovery listed locations.
If you have any further questions or need more information, please call Woodinville Fire & Life Safety District. We can be reached Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 483-2131.
