Free school workshop targets advertising
As part of the Northshore School District's Parent-Community-Educator Workshop series, Bob Jaffe, M.D. will present "Medicine Versus Madison Avenue" Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. at W.A. Anderson School cafeteria, 18603 Bothell Way NE. This free presentation will explore how advertising is affecting the health of children and the community. Parents and educators can learn how to counteract the unhealthy messages that target consumers. For information, call 489-6233.
BHS alumni meet

Free career series at Shoreline
Shoreline Community College is offering a free "Career Connection Series" Jan. 18 and 25 and Feb. 15 and 22 in room 2000 in the Foss Building. Learn about internship opportunities Jan. 18 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Pre-register by Jan. 17.
