Earthquake felt on Eastside
On Sunday, January 21, at approximately 8:06 a.m., an earthquake tremor was felt on the Eastside. It measured 3.3 on the Richter scale and was centered 14 miles beneath the ground about three miles south of North Bend, according to University of Washington seismologists.
One resident described feeling a hard jolt, then a slight agitation that increased for just a few seconds, causing small objects and plants to move.
King County Fire District 10's Communication Center activated an all-tone alert to Zone 2 Fire Departments at approximately 8:10 a.m. on Sunday.
Contact was also made to personnel of the Tolt and Chester Morse Dam. Dam personnel reported that all was secure, but there was an earthquake alarm activation from the Chester Morse Dam.
