Columbia Choirs set auditions for young singers
The Columbia Boys Choir and Columbia Girls Choir of Metropolitan Seattle are holding autitions Tuesday, Jan. 30 and Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m. at St. John Vlanney Catholic Church in Kirkland. Auditions will also be held by appointment through Feb. 15.
Children in grades 3-8 are eligible, and no experience is required. Auditions involve demonstrating the ability to carry a tune; children will be auditioned in pairs.
Rehearsals are held once and twice weekly from 4:25-6 p.m. in Kirkland. The choir also has a rehearsal location in the Shoreline/Edmonds area just south of the Highlands Ice Arena.
Activities include a local performance series and Summer Music Camp as well as training toward future concert touring. The choirs have performed in the United States, Australia, Canada, Western Europe, and Russia. For more information, call 486-1987.
