Junior Miss Laurie Brice, 17-year-old daughter of David and Lynette Brice of Woodinville, will be a participant in the Washington Junior Miss Program Feb. 1-3 at Washington State University in Pullman.
Laurie, a senior at Woodinville High School, is one of 36 contestants in the state competing for over $9,000 in scholarhips awarded during the program. She is sponsored by Haight Carpet and Oak Floors and Towne Bank of Woodinville.
"It's a mistake for people to think the Junior Miss Program is a beauty pageant," Brice said. "This is not for empty-headed contestants."
Her activities in school include National Honor Society, track, cross-country, A.S.K. Christian Campus Club, orchestra, and opera club.
She is currently trying to decide which college she will attend. Still in the running are Greenville in Illinois and Spring Arbor in Michigan.
