By day she works for a management company in Bellevue, but at night Woodinville resident Nicole Winslow lights up the stage of the Redwood Theatre.
Currently playing in The Odd Couple (Female Version), Winslow discovered her love of acting at Woodinville High School in the mid-eighties.
But marriage to husband Dave and the birth of now 18-month-old Spencer put her love of drama on hold, but only for a while.
Then she discovered the Redwood Theatre whose production schedules fit into her busy home and work schedule. "The evening rehearsals cater to people with professional lives outside of drama," she said.
So far she has appeared in Neil Simon's The Good Doctor and was cast in the lead female role of Play It Again, Sam. Winslow also serves on the Redwood Theatre Board. She sees that job as an "opportunity to help the theatre increase its audience and the quality of its productions." She also hopes the theatre will produce a musical in the future.
Neil Simon's The Odd Couple (Female Version) is a "sex-change operation" on a contemporary comic classic. All the roles are reversed with Florence Ungar and Olive Madison as the lead characters.
The production will run from Feb. 9-24 at the Redmond Senior Center, 8703 160th Ave. NE in Redmond. Performances are held 8 p.m. Fri. and Sat. nights with 2 p.m. matinees on Sunday. Ticket prices are $8.40 and $5.25 for students and seniors. For information, call 525-3493.
