Evergreen Community Health Care appoints new commissioner

new commissioner Rex Lindquist, a 12-year participant in Evergreen's volunteer Community Advisor Program, has been appointed to the board of commissioners of Evergreen Commuity Health Care. He fills the unexpired term of Julie Davidson, who resigned last November.
Lindquist is a Battalion Chief and 21-year veteran of the Kirkland Fire Department. As a Community Advisor, he has been involved in shaping Evergreen's health care programs and services for the community.
"I'm very interested in the overall state of health care," Lindquist said, "and now I'll be able to work with the other commissioners to shape the way health care will be delivered to our community."
Lindquist was one of 15 candidates interviewed for the open position. "We were truly fortunate to have such an outstanding group of candidates interested in serving the hospital district," said commissioner Rebecca Hirt. "We look forward to Rex's involvement and input into hospital district issues."
Lindquist will serve out the remainder of Davidson's term, which expires Dec. 31, 1997.
In other board action, Hirt was elected board president for 1996, and Russell McClintick was named board secretary. Bruce Buckles and Al DeYoung round out the five-member publicly-elected board.
