Forum on schools features Sen. McAuliffe

    A forum on educational choices will be held Feb. 8, 7 -9 pm. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Snohomish. A panel of educators is expected to be joined by State Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe, Chair of the State Senate Education Committee. During the first hour, the guests will speak, and questions will be answered and concerns addressed during the second. Childcare for the event will feature ventriloquism, puppetry, and comedy. For information on the forum or childcare, call 487-0264 and ask for Tori.

Mentors needed

    Welfare Rights Organizing Coalition (WROC) is accepting applications from students and professionals who wish to participate in the Student/Mentor Program which matches low-income student parents with professionals employed in their field of study or with similar interests. The program requires a two-hour monthly commitment for one year. Call 324-3063.

Friday night 'Gym Jams' for junior high students

   Junior high students are invited to stop by Northshore Jr. High on Friday nights to shoot hoops, (volleyball is available if there is interest) or just hang out with friends. The gym will be open Friday nights from 7:00-9:00pm. This program is free.
