Enriched by the increasing diversity
One of last week's very cold nights, I was out walking the dog and made a stop at the local grocery store. When I entered, the main sound I heard was an animated conversation in Spanish. It seemed to enliven and warm the winter night.
When paying for my bread and milk, I came up 58 cents short. The Hispanic woman behind me in line immediately dug into her own pocket for the difference I was missing.
I left the store wondering how we in the Snoqualmie Valley, individually and collectively, are doing in welcoming and integrating these newcomers into our community.
Personally, I feel very enriched by the increasing diversity--a thousand times beyond that 58 cents.
