Candy helps buy teddy bears
For every Hershey's Kisses Chocolate Candy product bought at Target between now and Valentine's Day, a donation will be made to Helping Hugs, a program that provides paramedics with cuddly toys that can be given to children in times of emergency.
Woodinville CPA firm collects for food drive
Freal & Saulness CPAs are helping food banks keep their shelves stocked by participating in the 6th annual "Operation Can Hunger" campaign, sponsored by the Washington Society of CPAs. Now through April 15, Freal & Saulness will act as a drop-off site for food and cash contributions for the drive and request that their clients bring donations when they come to the office. They'll also make a contribution for every tax return prepared during the campaign. For information, call 483-1040.

Applicants for appointment to the Seattle-King County Advisory Council on Aging are currently being accepted. The agency administers programs that address the concerns of the elderly. Women's club hosts Valentine's brunch
Northshore Christian Women's club invites all area women to a Valentine's Day brunch Wednesday, Feb. 14 from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m. at the Inglewood Country Club in Kenmore. Featured at the "Romantic Decors" event will be DeLaine O'Leary speaking on how to create a romantic atmosphere. Rhonda Bare will sing "Lovely Melodies" and Margaret Hower will discuss "Heartfelt Thoughts." Cost of the brunch is $10.50, with complimentary childcare provided. George Pinyuh will offer the lastest care information on growing roses Feb. 17 at 9 a.m. Perennials: Spring to Summer will be topic for Molbak's Peggy Campbell Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. She will offer a sneak preview of unique, new summer varieties.
