Troop 909 wins again

Klondike Derby

Scouts prepare to begin the Klondike Derby competitions.

Klondike Derby For the second year in a row, Boy Scout Troop 909's Raccoon Patrol walked away from the Northlakes District Klondike Derby with the First Place Award. Over 500 scouts representing 30 troops and 53 patrols competed in 12 challenging, scored events and a sled race all in knee-deep powder snow.
The Raccoon Patrol placed first or tied for first in the patrol/sled inspection, fire building, and the first aid competitions. They placed second in the sled race and the compass course.
Their accumulated points won them the large Klondike Derby Traveling Sled Award, which they will keep until next year's competition.
Area scouts who make up the Raccoon Patrol are Doug Royea, Mike Bek, Scott Carscadden, Robert Long, Brian Ravenel, and Lars Tysver.
Troop 909 is lead by Scoutmaster Jeffry Long and sponsored by Fitz Auto Parts of Woodinville.
