Controlling others at no cost to themselves

controlling others I'm waiting to read where some of the people who inveigh against downtown Woodinville landowners' developing their land (for PROFIT-oooohh!) offer to take up a collection for paying the landowners' high taxes.
Why is it okay for a previous landowner to have developed land for the complainers' houses and workplaces, but it's not okay for those who have preserved their land from development for many, many more years than the early developers, to do likewise.
There appear to be a lot of selfish citizens in Woodinville who like to control others at no cost to themselves.
