Congressional senior intern program underway
The Congressional Senior Citizen Intern Program, in conjunction with the Close Up Foundation, brings older Americans to Washington, D.C. for a week to learn about the people, processes, and issues involved in the making of public policy.
The program offers an in-depth look at key public policy issues through discussions with members of Congress, administration officials, reporters, and other policy experts. Interns also spend time in the activities of the Capitol Hill office of their Representative or Senator to see firsthand how a congressional staff works.
The program will be held May 18-25 in Washington, D.C. Included in the $958 tuition price are seven nights lodging in a major metropolitan hotel, in-town transportation, all meals (except one lunch), all seminars and other program activities, an evening at the theater, and more.
The program cost does not include transportation to and from Washington D.C. Deadline for application is April 5, 1996.
