Woodinville Fire and Life Safety climbs for leukemia
Ten members of the Woodinville Fire and Life Safety District will take part in the Firefighters' Challenge portion of the Big Climb for Leukemia Mar. 10 at the Columbia Seafirst Center.
Beginning at noon, the firefighters will climb the 69 flights of stairs at the center wearing full bunker gear, including air tank.
The group is working to raise $20,000 from entry fees, pledges, and sponsorships to benefit the Leukemia Society.
Woodinville firefighters taking part in the climb are leader Larry Laurent and team members Bill Callahan, Peder Davis, Matt Durham, Jeff Fuller, Joel Kuhnhenn, Paul Peterson, Jim Rodgers, Ron Suggs, and Tad Wineman.
Anyone wishing to help leukemia research by sponsoring one of these firefighters may pick up an entry form in the upstairs administrative offices of Station 31, 19900 144th Ave. NE in Woodinville, to make a pledge. Call 483-2131 for more information.
