Last week the students at Sorenson School showed their bus drivers just how much they appreciated them.
When the drivers arrived at the school, they were greeted with a big colorful thank-you sign, muffins, juice, and individual cards from the students addressed to each driver.
Chris O'Connor, a Northshore bus driver for 10 years, is typical of most drivers. She is as fond of her young passengers as they obviously are of her.
When asked about her job, O'Connor said she thought about her passengers the way she did her own children.
"It's our job to get them safely to school and help with their individual needs, but we begin their day, so it's just as important to start it with a smile and be warm and gentle," O'Connor said.
