Bothell legislator honored by highway group
Rep. Ian Elliot is a winner of the 1995 Motorvator Award, presented by the Washington Highway Users Federation.
Elliot, R-Bothell, was chosen for his "outstanding contributions to safe and efficient Washington highway systems in the public interest."
The Motorvator Award is presented each year to those lawmakers who have devoted the most time and effort to promoting better highway transportation in the state.
Elliot is an active member of the Puget Sound Regional Council's Transportation Policy Board and the Legislative Transportation Committee.
He is a strong advocate of HIgh Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes and traveled around the state last year looking at specific DOT projects on behalfof the transportation committee to assess the work being done and to determine ways to save the state money.
