Donations benefit Food Lifeline
If a boy scout left a "Scouting for Food Bag" at your home Mar. 23, he will return Mar. 30 to collect donations you've left on your doorstep. Suggested donations include protein-rich foods such as meat soups, stews, peanut butter, and tuna. Baby food, powdered infant formula, and canned fruits and vegetables will also be appreciated by food banks and meal programs. It's a mysterious summer!
Registration is now being accepted for King County Park System's summer day camps, which begin Monday, July 1 and continue for eight weeks through August 23. The day camp program offers sports, games, arts and crafts projects, and quiet activities for kids 6-12 on a daily basis with occasional special events and field trips. The programs will be held at Marymoor Park in Redmond, and Cottage Lake Park in Woodinville. The fee is $95/week. Call the King County Parks System Day Camp Program Office at 296-2956 for a brochure.
Cat show comes to Center
Toe Tufts & Tails, an International Cat Association club, will hold its annual Championship and Household Pet Cat Show, Mar. 30-31, at the Seattle Center Flag Pavilion. The show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5.00 adults, $3.00 seniors and children. Under 6 are free when accompanied by an adult. Donations benefit Children's Hospital
The Dr. Roger H. Johnson Guild of Children's Hospital and the Woodinville High School Honor Society will be collecting wearable used clothing, jewelry, toys, books, and small appliances for Children's Hospital Thrift Shops. Donations may be dropped off at the Woodinville Park & Ride Mar. 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Mar. 31 from 1 to 3 p.m. All proceeds from sales at the Thrift Shops benefit the uncompensated care program at Children's Hospital.
Vanpool riders needed
The East King County Vanpool is looking for riders with work hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. who travel from Bothell/Kirkland to Bellevue. Cost is approximately $44 a month. For details, call Kim MCool at 455-6836.
Family trail rides and picnics
Horse Country Stables near Granite Falls offers guided family trail rides Wednesday through Sunday. Picnic grounds along the Pilchuck River can be used before or after a ride. Quality crafters wanted
North Creek Presbyterian Church will hold a jury Mar. 30 from 10 a.m. to noon for new crafters interested in taking part in the church's Spring Boutique, which will be held May 3-4. The church is located at 621 164th St. SE in Mill Creek. For details, call Robin at 742-5096.
