WSU offers guaranteed 4-year degree
Washington State University will offer freshmen entering this fall the option of a new four-year degree agreement. The program, designed to assure more students that they will be able to complete their undergraduate degrees within four years, is seen as a way for students to control college costs.
The agreement includes obligations for both students and the university. Students would have to maintain their enrollment in a sequence of courses throughout the four-year period. If they live up to their part of the agreement, but the academic department fails to offer a required course to complete their degree, the university would substitute a different class, waive the requirement, or even pay for the tuition for the extra term needed to complete the degree requirements.
