The success of community collaborations was evident last Saturday in Woodinville with the festivities of Celebrate Woodinville '96. Long hours of planning and hundreds of volunteers made for an exciting time for children, bassets, and their families.
The importance of emergency services was also evident when Keith Durbin, a member of the Basset Bash group, suffered a heart attack while setting up his booth. An Evergreen Hospital paramedic was nearby and administered CPR while someone called 911. Woodinville Fire and Life Safety immediately responded and Keith was taken to Evergreen, where he remains in critical condition.
All involved should be commended and we, as a community, need to continue to work together, not only for special activities, but always, to provide needed services and programming.
