Bothell establishes 'Gold Coin Committee'
The Bothell City Council has approved Mayor John Curtin's formation of a Gold Coin Committee to explore ways for Boy Scout Matthew Wolff "to someday gain possession of" the four gold coins he found in the vacant city lot Feb. 24.
"This committee will explore all avenues of approach in this endeavor, to include any proposed changes in current applicable RCW's; local ordinance powers; the Governor's office; or any other legal means," Curtin said.
"I look for retroactive language to allow for past actions to be counted," he continued. "My desire is to have the Gold Coin Committee work on this issue until all areas are exhausted. When the committee feels they have something to present to the full council, then a report will be made, and our council will react accordingly," he said.
