Bothell student wins essay contest

essay winner In addition to winning the State American History Essay Contest, Lie Shia Ong, an eighth grader at the Heritage Christian School in Bothell, has been named the second place finisher for the eighth grade in the western regional area.
   Ong, who was sponsored by the Elizabeth Bixby Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, titled her winning entry "Explorers of America: Lewis & Clark."
   The young writer was honored at a luncheon during the annual DAR State Conference in March and received a DAR history medal and a check for $50.
