Zoo celebrates Earth Day

Earth Day Woodland Park Zoo will celebrate the 26th anniversary of Earth Day Apr. 20. Watch zoo keepers give the elephants their daily baths at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., meet an insect, spider, or other arthropod up close at the Family Farm.
   Meet at noon at the entrance to the Tropical Rain Forest exhibit for a close look at carnivorous plants, armed palms and rare orchids. Learn about home composting from Dr. Doo at 1 pm. and about vegetable gardening at 1:30 p.m., both at the Family Farm.
   View the baby gorilla from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and pick up your contest entry form to name the baby.
