WOODINVILLE--Clearing and grading began last week at the newest Boston Market location, on the corner of 140th Avenue NE and NE 171st Street next door to McDonald's, with plans to be serving food within 60 days.
"We've done very well on the Eastside, especially in Redmond, and expect Woodinville to be equally as great," said Chris Dickinsen, director of marketing for BC Northwest, overseers of Boston Market in the Northwest. Twenty-four Boston markets opened last year, and 22 are planned for this year in Washington and Oregon.
All permits have been issued for the 3,000-square-foot restaurant, including site development, clearing and grading, building permits, and a sign permit. Along the north side of NE 171st Street, several street trees are scheduled to be removed as a new water line is being constructed to serve the restaurant. The street trees will be replaced by the developers when construction on the line is completed. When completed, the site will have 40 parking spaces, seat 60, have a drive-through, and a 100-foot setback from Tributary 87, which runs along the west edge of the site.
Boston Market serves rotisserie chicken and turkey, baked ham and meat loaf, steamed vegetables, from-scratch mashed potatoes, and fresh fruit, along with a bevy of side dishes. The restaurant's focus is catering to families, offering drive-thru convenience and call-ahead orders.
