Mack School honors namesakes

Gene & Marie Mack

Gene and Marie Mack.

Mack School Long-time Woodinville residents Gene and Marie Mack were "adopted" by Bellevue Christian School Mack Elementary students at Grandparents Day last week. In addition, kindergarten students surprised Gene with a giant signed birthday card honoring his 80th birthday.
"Thank you, but there has been a mistake: I'm only 69," Gene joked with the crowd of about 200 parents and grandparents.
Principal Dan Ribera read the students' greetings on the card, including one that said, "...and we're glad you are named after our school."
The Macks formerly owned the school property, located at Mack's Corner on the Woodinville-Duvall Road.
Grandparents Day is an annual event at Bellevue Christian Elementary Schools to honor grandparents and special older friends.
