Grid road cents and sensibility
In a town where the total annual budget is $3.5 million, does it make sense to place a grid road where the first 100 feet costs $1 million for the land alone?
Does it make sense when building a city to ignore open undeveloped land and instead demolish existing businesses along with the jobs they provide in order to build such a road?
Is the most sensible plan for reducing congestion on NE 175th Street to construct more ways for cars to access it?
New roads must be well-engineered and make financial sense. A plan that doesn't make financial sense doesn't make sense!
As challenging as it may be for the City Council, they should try to arrive at a Grid Road plan that does not require paving over the taxpayers who elected them.
