Carnation residents get ready for town portrait.

Carnation town portrait by Jan Flippin
The unpredictable May weather cooperated last Saturday, and produced a beautiful sunny evening as the town of Carnation gathered together to have its "family portrait" taken.
Photographer Don Waterhouse was hoisted into the air by a Puget Power vehicle equipped with a "cherry-picker" basket. About 300 residents and friends of Carnation were present for the event.
The portrait will be presented to the Carnation Historical Society, and copies of it will be sold by the Carnation Chamber of Commerce for $10 each. Orders can be placed at Simply Grand in Carnation, or by mail to the Carnation Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 603, Carnation, WA 98014.
Funds generated from the sale of the pictures will be used to purchase planters and Christmas decorations for the downtown sidewalks. For further information, call Yvonne Funderburg at 333-4711.
