Students from Canyon Park Junior High School earned third place at the state level of the Science Olympiad Apr.13 at Everett Community College.
Thirty-five teams took part in the event, competing in such areas as astronomy, metric mastery, tower building, and water quality.
The Canyon Park team was awarded a trophy, and team members received medals for individual events. The school, which placed third last year also, plans to begin preparing for next year's competition when school begins again in September.
