Mother's Day card is a winner in national contest

This personally designed, handmade card delighted Megan Jacobs' mother.

handmade card Megan Jacobs' handmade Mother's Day card was chosen as a semifinalist in the1996 Kentucky Fried Chicken/Family Circle "All-American Salute to Mothers" national greeting card contest.
   The inside of the card reads, "Mom, when something goes wrong, always remember, the dog did it. When something goes right, I did it."
   Megan, an 11-year-old fifth grader at Henry David Thoreau Elementary School, is the daughter of Christy and Jack Jacobs of Bothell. She was one of 51 students selected nationwide to have her handmade card displayed at the Empire State Building in New York during the month of May.
   Megan also received a Picture Atlas of the World and the Picture Atlas of Prehistoric Life, both published by Rand McNally.
