Home tour will spotlight use of native plants

native plants "Natural Selections: a Native Plant Garden Tour" will be held May 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Woodinville Water District. The event is an opportunity for participants to learn about the use of native plants in the landscape by visiting area gardens.
   At the Water District, 177328 Woodinville-Duvall Rd., visitors will see a low-water-use demonstration garden with drought-tolerant native plants and low-water gardening techniques.
   The Lavender residence, 17304 208th Ave. NE, is an example of the use of native plants in low-maintenance landscaping.
   The Milanovich residence, 14725 Bear Creek Lane, features colorful native plants to protect Cottage Creek.
   Free workshops will be provided at Classic Nursery, 12526 Avondale Rd. NE. For information or driving instructions, call 296-8024.
