Local Police Beat

Bellevue Police arrested four adult males on May 9 in a string of church burglaries in that city possibly linked to four commercial burglaries committed in Woodinville on May 5 at the Woodinville Alliance Church, the Woodinville Community Methodist Church, Minuteman Press, and Andrew's Hallmark. Each break-in involved the theft of computer equipment as well as other items. Some stolen property was recovered by the Bellevue Police, and the two jurisdictions are determining if the recovered property belongs to the Woodinville businesses.
A 28-year-old male and 27-year-old female were taken into custody at NAPA Auto Parts in Woodinville last Thursday and booked for fraud/unlawful issuance of check drafts, after allegedly writing checks totaling up to $2,000 on a closed account. According to police, the two had written checks throughout the Puget Sound area, including at several businesses in Woodinville, and had opened the now-closed account using false checks.
