Northshore Summer School registration opens
Mail registration is underway for the Northshore School District's annual Summer School, which will operate July 8 through August 2. Brochures and registration forms are available at all school sites.
The summer school offers several options: elementary academic and enrichment classes, computer camp, special education skills classes, and secondary credit classes for make-up and new credit.
Woodmoor Elementary is the site for the elementary-level classes. Academic and enrichment programs will operate 9 a.m.-noon each day. The cost is $195 for the four-week session.
A separate Computer Camp will operate at Canyon Creek Elementary. Session I is July 8-19 and Session II is July 22 through August 2. Each session is $100.
Anderson School is the location for secondary-level classes, which operate from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The cost is $195 per 3-hour class and $130 for remedial or two-hour class. Patty Lund is administrator of the Secondary Summer School. More information is available by calling 489-6310.
In addition to these credit classes, a special 9 a.m.-noon class will be provided for Contained Learning Center (CLC) special education students. Other students are offered the opportunity to earn credit as teaching assistants for the CLC class, serving as one-on-one tutors and accompanying the class into the community for practical experiences.
Registration forms must be completed and mailed with a check to the Summer School Office by June 28. In-person registration will be available June 24-28 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the temporary summer school office in the Ricketts Building at Bothell, 402-5123.
