Water Tenders plan Bear Creek tours

   Water Tenders will host two Bear Creek Waterways 2000 tours June 8, at 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The tours will visit Daniels Creek Park, the Upper Bear Creek Conservation area, the Bassett Pond/Cold Creek area, and the Tolt Pipeline Trail. Meet at Daniels Creek Park, on the south side of the Woodinville-Duvall Road at 182nd (the little white barn just past the blueberry farm). Participants should have waterproof boots (close to knee-high) and outdoor clothing, and should be prepared to walk about a mile total. Children are welcome.

County program honored

   King County Solid Waste Division Waste Free Fridays program has recently been honored by the Washington Department of Ecology as the best public information/education program.

Special recycling event in Bothell

   A special recycling event for Bothell and unincorporated King County residents will be held June 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bothell High School. Call 296-4466 for information.

Volunteers needed at Little Bit

Caution with canned salsa

   While fresh or frozen salsa is usually safe, WSU's Home Economics Dept. recommends that care be taken with canned salsa to prevent botulism. For scientifically tested recipes, call 509-335-2948.

Evergreen Hospital offers classes

   Parents and babysitters can learn first aid and CPR June 10 or 12 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Evergreen Hospital. A nutritionist analyzes diet and offers cooking tips and recipes June 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A class with tips on taking care of your knees will be presented June 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Call 899-3000 for more information.
