Woodinville dedicates first city park
by Matt Schroeder
The City of Woodinville has completed construction on its first park, located in the Woodinville Heights neighborhood.
The park, at an approved cost of $77,350, includes a play structure, benches, an open play area, and a special rock that accumulates water like a basin and can float toy boats.
The Woodinville Heights Park was first proposed shortly after the city incorporated. A public survey showed that residents wanted more parks. The land was purchased by the city when its former owner offered to sell it at a favorable rate. Grade, Inc. was given the contract, and recently finished working on the project.
Opening Day is scheduled for June 15, with a dedication ceremony from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Families are encouraged to bring child-safe scissors to participate in the ribbon cutting. Refreshments will be served to those in attendance.
