Recycling good for environment, health
Every person consumes 600 pounds of paper each year. Of that amount, only 25% is recycled in the United States.
Recycling not only helps the environment, but it can also help you. Some recycling companies actually give the recycler discounts on their garbage bills.
Recycling your used paper is only the half of it. Buying recycled paper is the other. Companies like Weyerhaeuser earn money by selling the paper they recycle. If no one is buying the recycled paper and the companies aren't making any money, then they will stop recycling the paper.
Every ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees. Each one of those trees removes 25 to 45 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air. Recycle for the good of your health and for the good of the environment.
